We’re now looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the Seller Domain to help us continue developing Hemnet. For us, how you think as an engineer matters more than which programming languages you’ve worked with.

About the role 🍏
At Hemnet, we believe selling your home should be a great experience and as successful as possible. The Seller domain is responsible for the services that help sellers maximize their opportunities in the housing market. 

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Seller domain, you’ll work with an experienced cross functional team, covering user-facing functionality as well as backend logic. You’ll take responsibility for the bigger picture, both technically to shape our products.

Our current stack includes Ruby and Node.js on the backend and Next.js on the frontend. That said, we’re pragmatic about technology and see it as something that evolves over time. We therefore value the ability to quickly learn new languages, frameworks, and systems more than prior experience with any specific stack.

• Has several years of experience building and maintaining production web systems.

• Is comfortable reasoning about architecture, scalability, and maintainability.

• Learns new technologies and codebases quickly

• Cares about code quality, clarity, and testability.

• Enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge with others.

You don’t need to know everything from day one – but you’re confident in your role as an engineer and curious to keep learning.

• Build and improve Hemnet’s products across the system.

My name is Johan Boberg, I joined Hemnet in June, prior to Hemnet I worked at Blocket for many years. I have a long career behind me as Engineering Manager and before that, as Backend Developer.

As a manager, I am supportive and humble, my goal is to create an environment where you can feel trusted, be challenged and empowered to grow. My job is to lead the team to a productive and creative space where everyone can contribute.
