We’re in the middle of an architectural transformation, moving from a monolithic structure toward a service-oriented architecture. Your experience building scalable Node.js services will be key in driving this journey forward.

About the role 🍏
You’ll be part of a team responsible for a data-driven product that helps real estate agents make smarter decisions. Right now, the team is focusing on building financial solutions that create tangible business value for our users. In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Nest.js

• Contribute to frontend development in React

• Support and evolve APIs (GraphQL and REST)

• Play an active role in our transition toward a service-oriented architecture

• Break down complex problems and help decompose monolithic systems into modular services

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver impactful solutions

• Lead technical discussions and mentor team members

• Continuously improve code quality, performance, and developer experience

• Contribute to an inclusive team culture where different perspectives are valued

Who we think you are 🤩
You care about architecture, scalability, and clean code and you enjoy helping others grow. We believe you bring:

• Several years of experience as a Fullstack Engineer

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js (preferably Nest.js or similar frameworks)

• Experience building and maintaining large-scale applications

• Practical knowledge of decomposing monoliths and designing service-oriented or microservice architectures

• Experience with React on the frontend

• Comfort working with APIs (GraphQL and/or REST)

• An openness to working with and learning Ruby

• A coaching mindset, you enjoy guiding others and fostering strong technical discussions

Hi!
My name is Tomas, and I’ll be your new manager. I’ve been at Hemnet since 2022 and am currently working as Head of Engineering in our domain called B2B. I’m really excited to support the teams that will be working on many new and important areas for Hemnet, including a data tool for agents to help them make more informed decisions as well as financial solutions for agents.

My leadership style is listening, transparent, accessible, and supportive, while also challenging you to take your next step. Hopefully, we’ll learn a lot from each other and have plenty of fun as we break new ground at Hemnet. As a team, we get things done; we know when and where value can be added, and we’re clear on our priorities.
