Recruitment @ Hemnet
If you found your way here, you’re probably curious about how we work with recruitment — or maybe you’re currently in a process with us. Either way, welcome! We hope you find something valuable.
What to expect

Apply to an open position
See a role that excites you? Apply!
You’ll answer a few short screening questions — they help us get to know you beyond your CV and reduce bias by giving everyone the same starting point. And don’t worry, no cover letter needed!

Evaluation
At this stage, we decide who moves forward in the process. These decisions are based on a predefined requirement profile — created before the job ad is even published.
We usually have a two-week application period, during which we carefully screen all candidates. Once the application window has closed, you can expect to hear from us with an update on your status.
We’re rooting for you, and keeping our fingers crossed that you make it to the next step! 🌟

First meeting with Hemnet
Usually a 30-minute video call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners. We’ll focus on your background and the competencies most relevant to the role. Of course, we’ll also share more about Hemnet!
A friendly reminder:
Throughout the entire recruitment process, we believe that your evaluation of Hemnet as a potential employer is just as important as our evaluation of you as a potential colleague. So don’t hesitate to ask the questions that matter most to you — we want you to get a clear and honest picture of what it’s like to work here.
Good luck, we’re excited to get to know you!

Meet the hiring manager
Woho, you’ve made it this far — you clearly have something we’re looking for!
Next up is an in-person interview with the hiring manager that usually lasts about an hour.
We use a competency-based interview approach. What does that mean? Be ready to share examples from your previous experiences!

Case/test
By now, we know your personal qualities match what we’re looking for! Next, we want to understand your practical abilities a bit better. This step varies by role, but usually involves a case or test. For example, if you're applying for a developer role, you’ll complete a coding test.

Finish Line
Alright, we're almost there—this is the final step in the recruitment process. This stage also varies depending on the role, but it typically involves a conversation with your manager’s manager, or with a manager and someone from the team. We truly want this to be the right match for both you and us, so please prepare questions that genuinely matter to you—things that will help you get a full picture of Hemnet as an employer, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

Decision
Wow—you made it all the way! At this point, we truly believe we’re a perfect match. Now, we’ll be calling you with an offer and hope you feel excited and inspired to join the Hemnet team and create great things together with us!
