IT Operations Specialist

Hemnet is looking for a curious and hands-on IT Operations Specialist to help strengthen and evolve our internal IT capabilities. In this role, you'll improve user experiences, drive security-focused initiatives, and ensure our systems and devices enable smooth, secure, and effective work across the company.

About the Role
As an IT Operations Specialist, you’ll be part of our small but impactful internal IT team, working closely with our Head of Internal IT and System Administrator. This is a hands-on, user-facing role with a strong focus on continuous improvement, security, access management, and evolving our SaaS environment as we grow.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how we work with internal IT – refining tools like Google Workspace, improving security practices, and leading initiatives that strengthen our internal tech and employee experience. You’ll work both reactively and proactively: solving immediate issues while also identifying patterns and driving long-term improvements.
You’ll also collaborate with various teams, including Information Security and DevOps, particularly around identity management, secure integrations, and access control.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Security
Maintain and improve the performance and security of Hemnet’s internal IT environment
Drive internal IT initiatives with a focus on usability, scale, and safety
Ensure compliance with security practices across our internal IT environment – including areas such as MFA, device compliance and access controls – while continuously identifying opportunities to raise the level of security across our IT environment
Participate in onboarding/offboarding processes and lifecycle management of accounts and devices
Asset & License Management
Manage and track hardware and software inventory
Ensure efficient license use and procurement compliance
Streamline device setup through automation and MDM (e.g. Jamf)
Internal IT Support, Administration & Collaboration
Together with the System Administrator, provide internal IT support to employees, including troubleshooting, access management and onboarding
Improve and maintain SaaS integrations (e.g. Google Workspace, Slack)
Collaborate with InfoSec and DevOps to implement practical security improvements across tools and workflows
Maintain documentation and actively share knowledge across Hemnet

Experience working with internal IT in a SaaS-based environment, especially with Google Workspace
Solid understanding of IT security practices such as SSO, MFA, access control and compliance
