Hemnet has 62 million visits every month (we can easily spot TV-commercial breaks in our traffic patterns), our development teams release multiple times per day and it’s in the platform team’s responsibility to deliver a platform to handles all that. The team members of our platform team are challenged to develop an infrastructure and platform delivering a state of the art user experience both to developers and our users.

About the team
The Platform team, which you in this role will be leading, has the mission to enable our development teams to build and release their products by providing an approachable, stable and highly automated infrastructure.
Some of the team’s main responsibilities:
- Application and data infrastructure
- Tools for CI/CD, release pipeline and monitoring
- Development of our core API:s and components - making sure they fit current and future demands
- System security, performance, stability and data integrity
- External integrations.
About the role
We are looking for a Development & Product Manager to lead our platform team. In this role you’ll be a part of the development management team, together with Hemnet’s Development Managers, our Technical Director, UX Director and CTO. Together, you and your colleagues have the strategic and operational responsibility to lead the development department, streamline existing processes and structures, and continue to build our strong culture that aligns with the Hemnet's values.
This role includes two areas of responsibility - product and staff responsibility:
Setting the vision
You will work together with the team and other stakeholders to set the vision, strategy, roadmap and prioritization for the platform team. This means identifying new opportunities to evolve the platform and making sure we’re alway one step ahead in what we’re building. This requires you to be able to extract requirements from stakeholders, own the backlog and set the priorities.
Leading the team
You’ll lead your team, consisting of seven engineers, by creating great conditions for the team to deliver value and build technically stable solutions. You’ll develop our agile way of working with the team, to make the job more fun and more efficient. You will work with recruitment, coaching and development, feedback, salary and goals setting, etc.
Who we are looking for
This is a role with varying responsibilities and we are looking for someone who enjoys initiating technical discussions and pushing as much as building great teams and helping team members to develop and thrive.
We are looking for you who:
- Have a solid technical background as a software engineer and experience with cloud technologies, devops principles.
- Understand tech architecture and systems and to know when a solution should be built into the platform or not (cost opportunity)
- Have leadership experience as a team lead, manager or similar for a software development team
- Have experience owning a backlog or, in other ways, being involved in priorities.

Way of working after the pandemic:
All employees at Hemnet will have the possibility to work from the office in the central parts of Stockholm. We will also have the opportunity to work the majority (but not 100% remotely) of the time from home.
